The enticing aromas and the taste of sweet autumn of the sweet treats at Sugar Loaf are often hard to resist even for the unsuspecting passing shopper.
Sugar Loaf owners Todd and Lori Jansen originally come from Atkinson, a small farm town in Nebraska. The couple has proven that with hard work and persistence, anything is possible. When they moved to Branson in 1996, their family of 6 began to grow and experience new opportunities that are unique to Branson. By 2004, they started Sugar Leaf and made their first cookie. The hardworking couple realized that they needed more space as the demand for their cookies began to grow. Soon they established their first store in the Engler Block and hired their first employees but still kept the majority of the work within the family.
The couple has been always the first to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Donating breads, pastries, and meals to different charity benefits. The selfless couple love to give back to the community who welcomed them with open arms years ago. Over the years, as their homey café and the sweet treats become popular in the area their business began to grow. Many visitors have fallen in love with the relaxing atmosphere, some have been satisfied and enjoyed with the flavorful recipes and some call from hours away for catering needs. With Jansens’ mission to make each cake, cookie, and meal with as much flavors and zest as possible, many have travelled to Branson just to seek out the delights they make.
The small Sugar Leaf Bakery and Café at the Grand Village Shoppes is easily overlooked as it is tucked away with all other unique stores in the area but the place is one of Branson’s best kept secrets.
