The timber-frame building of the Midwest Living Culinary and Craft School features a beautiful view of Echo Hollow from the back porch. Styled in a century old farmhouse, the building offers a unique blend of American heritage and state-of-the-art settings, including a gorgeous Kitchen Showroom that features modern appliances and plasma TV.
This Culinary and Craft School also welcomes children to attend classes at the discretion of their parents or guardians. Seats in the Demonstration Kitchen are available 10 minutes before the scheduled class. However, the seat availability is on a first-come basis as you check in at the Culinary and Craft School. At Silver Dollar City’s Country Music Weekend, you can get the chance to see Diamond Rio perform his best. During this event, you can also enjoy watching classic country performances in Echo Hollow Amphitheatre.

The brunch menu features a savory smoked sausage breakfast patty. Ali Smith will also be sharing other tasty brunch recipes. With Apple Pie Class, you will learn the art of pie making with Master Craftsman Debbie Dance Uhrig. She will share tips for achieving a tasty flaky crust. You will also learn with Debbie how to modify the recipe to your own preferences.
Fall Dinner Cooking Class is also offered by Culinary and Craft School. The school features a perfect ambiance for a fall evening filled with entertainment and great food. At 4:45 pm, you will be welcomed with appetizers and a chance to mingle fellow culinary participants before being seated for dinner. Delicious meal begins with a Fresh Green Salad and Homemade Bread followed by main course of Stuffed Acorn Squash. A delectable Dutch Apple Pie will complete a perfect finale. After dinner, the participants move to the Back Porch where they can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the 6pm evening concert in Echo Hollow.
Another great cooking recipe to learn the Midwest Way is The Truth About Squash Class. This class features the stars of fall cuisine – squash. Stuffed Acorn Squash is prepared with smooth golden pulp cradling a warm sausage. This savory dish is accompanied by a fall beet salad from the Midwest Living cookbooks.
