Even when Branson is covered with snow, outdoor fun is still being enjoyed by families spending a wonderful vacation during this time of year. The director of operations for the Branson Tourism Center Tammy John said, “Although, there is more to do in Branson in the summer than in the winter, there is always something that is entertaining and fun for families to do regardless of the weather.” There are many attractions in Branson that are not weather dependent such as shows, shopping and dining opportunities, museums and other tourist attractions.
Water activities such as fishing, boating, swimming are favorite family activities in Branson. In spite of the cold winter temperatures, families can still swim and enjoy water activities in some of Branson’s indoor water parks. The Castle Rock and Grand Country’s “Splash Country” both provide visitors the comfort and convenience of walking from your accommodation into an indoor water park that offers water slides and a fun-filled water adventure even on the coldest days. Majority of Branson hotels and other lodging facilities are open during winter season such as the Grand Plaza Hotel where you can enjoy the fun and excitement on their indoor heated pools.
In Branson, there are countless attractions that are not weather dependent and remain open all winter providing the same fun and excitement as they do during the regular season. Among these attractions is the Titanic Museum, the largest museum in the world which was built half the size of the original ship. The replica of the RMS Titanic is towering 100 feet above the famed Branson Strip. The museum provides an exciting, fun filled and educational adventure on a voyage that will relive the last hours of the “unsinkable ship” through interacting with the ship’s crew, interactive displays, walking down an exact replica of its spectacular Grand Staircase, and the viewing of over 400 personal artifacts.
Titanic Museum is just one of many Branson attractions. There are other great museum attractions in Branson that are good to visit during winter time such as the Dinosaur Museum, World’s Largest Toy Museum, Veterans Memorial Museum, Hollywood Wax Museum, the Butterfly Palace and Rain Forest Adventure, and many others that will provide fun and excitement for the whole family.
Another exciting options in Branson to visit during the cold season is the “Grand Country Fun Spot” which features the “White River Black Light Mini-Golf Course in 3D, Mini-Bowling, and state of the art video arcade game facility that has the most popular video and fun arcade games from motocross racing to space exploring. If the weather temperature is mild, it will be great to spend outdoors for more family fun activity at Scotty’s Trout Dock by taking a walk on the Branson Landing Boardwalk or visiting the Shepherd of the Hills Trout Hatchery, all of which are free.
As Branson is known for its mild weather, you still have the chance to enjoy the outdoors even during winter season.
