How to Choose a Golf Club
When you have been playing golf in Branson for quite a long time already, you probably have a golf club, but that doesn’t mean you stick to it forever. Whether you’re a neophyte golfer or an experienced golfer, you must have the proper set of golf clubs. When you want to play better on your game, then you need to invest in a premium quality golf club. Here are some ideas on how to choose a golf club.
Golf clubs are designed specifically for all levels of play. As a beginner, you are excited to get all the golf gear that you need to get out on the course and master the game. But don’t let your eagerness force you into a low quality of golf club. Golf equipment, especially a set of golf clubs, is something that you should consider in getting the right one as you progress with your game.
As a golf newbie, you can use borrowed or new clubs. These should include at least a 3 wood, a range of irons and a putter. Use these clubs to familiarize the game and decide if you want to continue or not. When you choose to continue playing the game, you can now buy your own beginner set of clubs.
At this stage, you don’t need an expensive custom fitted and top brand as you aren’t 100 percent sure on not quitting the game. Go to a discount golf store and purchase a basic beginner set of clubs. It will likely include a driver and a 3-wood, odd numbered irons (3, 5, 7 and 9) and a putter, as well as a bag to carry them in.
When you’re ready to buy the clubs, make the basic decisions between men’s and women’s and right or left-handed clubs. Then decide what to get between steel and graphite shafts. As a beginner, choose the steel shafts as they are more durable and less expensive. This will get you started in the game with ease.
After playing golf in Branson for a year or so and you are beginning to look at improving your game, step up to a full set of clubs. It will include a driver, 3 and 5 woods, and 3 through PW (pitching wedge) irons. You will usually need to select a separate putter. A good one to start with is a blade type putter. You will not need at this stage especially clubs such as wedges (sand, approach and lob wedges), long irons (1 and 2-irons) and additional woods (7, 9 and even numbered woods). This time, you’ll make a choice between graphite and steel shafts. At this stage, it’s better to stick with the steel.
As you continue playing golf in Branson and notice that you have improved your game, begin to use better golf clubs that you think are now best suited for your game. You know by this time that you are a committed golfer and the investment is much less risky than when you began playing the game.
