The Queen of Crabbiness in a Musical Christmas Show

Queen of CrabbinessHallmark’s “Queen of Crabbiness” will be making a debut on stage with Maxine’s Christmas Carol, a new live-action stage musical at the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center for the 2016 Musical Christmas show in Branson. The schedule of the show is 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday from Nov. 1 through Dec. 20, 2016. The “Queen of Crabbiness” will star in a musical version of Christmas Carol. The bright lights of Branson are set to shine on a brand new star on the stage. Maxine’s Christmas Carol is a twist on Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas story which features ghosts, songs, plenty of attitude, and even a role for Maxine’s dog Floyd.

In a press release of Maxine Production, Hallmark Executive Producer Tom Brantman said, “Maxine’s ‘tell it like it is’ personality is the perfect fit for this singing, dancing, crabby version of the Dickens classic.” “We think Maxine will bring the crabbiest, and funniest, Christmas that Branson has ever seen. The Hallmark character has been a long time favorite for many fans for nearly three decades. Since she first appeared on a greeting card, she’s continuously appeared on everything from books to calendar to Christmas ornaments.

Maxine’s Christmas Carol is a unique Christmas show in Branson that even the Grinch would envy. The lovable character delivers the iconic story with song, dance, and heaps of merry and mirth, sprinkled with the best of her rude personality trait, and just a dash of attitude. Having been introduced to many of us by way of her appearance on the greeting card covers from Hallmark, the self-appointed Queen of Crabbiness, Maxine, has been a popular character from the start. Since Maxine’s appearance at Hallmark cards about three decade ago, the ornery oldster’s image has graced a long list of items, including sweatshirts, calendars, and even coffee mugs.

Transforming this famous Hallmark character to a live-action musical production must be the biggest challenge yet, but it has been accomplished expertly; and even her pathetic canine companion, Floyd, get a role in the show. Choosing a unique Christmas show in Branson is hard to find, and you certainly can’t pick any better with more fun than “Hallmark Presents Maxine’s Christmas Carol” at the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center.

Jeff Seifried, President/CEO, Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau had said about Maxine’s Christmas Carol, "We're delighted to welcome Hallmark and Maxine to Branson and expect she'll have plenty to say about the most wonderful time of the year."  "Her special brand of humor is sure to make this a Christmas season we won't soon forget and will enjoy for many years to come." This must-see show of the 2016 Christmas season will premiere November 1, 2016 and runs until December 10, 2016 at the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center in Branson.
